Literary Career

Carlos Daniel López is a rising literary talent from Guayaquil, Ecuador. He first garnered attention by contributing to the widely recognized poetry anthology Manías de la mente (“Obsessions of the Mind”), where his unique voice began to emerge. His breakthrough, however, came with the release of Un día en la vida (2024; “A Day in the Life”), a collection of short stories and poems published by Luna Nueva Ediciones.

This work captures the essence of life’s fleeting moments, exploring themes of love, loss, and redemption through a mix of short stories and poetry. The book earned López a prominent spot at the 2024 Feria Internacional del Libro de Guayaquil, a key event in Ecuador’s literary calendar. Held from September 18 to 22 at the Centro de Convenciones Simón Bolívar, the fair featured many Ecuadorian authors, and López’s participation underscored his rising influence within the national literary scene.

López has also written El Maletín, a collection of poetry, and Cartas a Flora y otros relatos, showcasing his versatility across both prose and poetry. His work consistently delves into human emotions and the complexities of relationships, drawing readers into intimate and reflective narratives.
