Gonzalo Llona Marchena (Lima, Peru, March 21, 1864 – May 20, 1933) was a poet and journalist. He was the son of the famous Ecuadorian poet Numa Pompilio Llona. He was a staff editor of the newspaper El Telegrafo. He wrote the hymns of several schools, a labor union, the firefighters of Guayaquil and the Boy Scouts of Ecuador. In 1921 he published “Ecos del alma,” a collection of hymns and patriotic poems.
Awards
- Awarded a gold medal in the national competition by the Guayas Province School Council. Judged by Remigio Crespo Toral, Honorato Vazquez and Francisco Falquez Ampuero.
- 2nd Gold Medal of the National Competition of 1886, by the Municipality of Guayaquil, for A la memoria de los héroes del Nueve de Octubre.
- Prize of the National Competition of 1894, by the Municipality of Guayaquil, for En el 9 de Octubre.
- Awarded with a gold medal in the national competition by “El grito del pueblo,” for “A Calderon.”

His parents were the famous Ecuadorian poet Numa Pompilio Llona and the Peruvian Enriqueta Marchena Bentin.
