Early Life and Education

César Carbache Mora was born on July 24, 1965, in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He pursued his higher education at the Universidad Estatal de Guayaquil, earning a degree in Social Communication Sciences. Over time, he furthered his academic qualifications, obtaining a Diplomado Superior in Education by Competencies from the Universidad del Azuay, and two master’s degrees: one in Higher Education from the Universidad Científica del Sur, and another in Digital Communication from the Universidad Casa Grande. He is currently a doctoral candidate at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, specializing in Audiovisual Communication, Publicity, and Public Relations.

Academic and Professional Career

Carbache is an established cultural promoter and professor at the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM), specifically at the Bahía de Caráquez extension. He has held various roles including cultural coordinator and academic committee member. His research focus includes marketing and tourism. Notably, he spearheaded the project “Application of Experiential Marketing in the Post-Earthquake Promotion of the Destinations Sucre, San Vicente – Jama, Pedernales,” which was crucial in the region’s recovery after the 2016 earthquake.

As a researcher and editor, he founded the ULEAM Bahía Magazine, a scientific publication dedicated to research, and has participated in international academic events in countries such as the U.S. and Cuba. His academic contributions include co-authoring works on the challenges of higher education and the social knowledge economy, with published articles on ResearchGate.

Literary Career

Carbache Mora has made significant contributions to Ecuadorian poetry, beginning with the publication of his first collection, “Desde lo alto del insomnio” in 1993. Over the years, he released several other poetry collections: “De agua y de barro” (1999), “Árbol de ecos” (2000), and “Alas de olas” (2002). In 2007, he compiled his earlier works in an anthology titled “Antología poética 1993-2006”. His poetry reflects themes of nature, human emotions, and existential musings, and he has represented Ecuador in various international literary events, including in Peru (2006), Mexico (2011), and Chile (2011, 2013).

Carbache also serves as the editorialist for the weekly newspaper El Nuevo Globo and has been involved in radio broadcasting as the director of the cultural program Bahía Cultural. His involvement in literature extends to organizing workshops and directing cultural initiatives, particularly in Bahía de Caráquez, where he has resided for several years.

César Carbache Mora has been recognized for his dedication to education and culture. He is a member of both the Casa de la Cultura Ecuatoriana and the Colegio de Periodistas (Journalists’ Guild) in Guayas, receiving awards for his contributions to these fields. His involvement in the promotion of culture is not limited to his academic and literary pursuits but extends into various independent cultural projects and social initiatives, including a foundation focused on cultural development.

Legacy and Recognitions

Carbache has been acknowledged with several honors, including the Cultural and Educational Merit award by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ecuador, and a Journalistic Merit award from the Colegio de Periodistas of Guayas. In 2020, he was awarded an honorary doctorate (Doctor Honoris Causa) from the Universidad del Norte de Tamaulipas, Mexico, in recognition of his contributions to communication and education.

His lasting impact on Ecuador’s cultural and academic landscape is evident through his continued work in poetry, education, and cultural promotion, solidifying his role as a significant figure in both national and international contexts.
